Word of Life Restart Plan

First, let's begin with this info - According to the CDC, as of July 21, 2020, 6.6% of reported COVID-19 cases and <0.1% of COVID-19-related deaths are among children and adolescents less than 18 years of age in the United States. So, in regards to the youth, we are not dealing with a high-risk age group.
If your child comes in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or they exhibit the common symptoms among students which include fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, headache, body ache, and diarrhea, please keep them home.

All of our youth will begin the school year doing at-home learning (online) except for Wesleyan Christian Academy, High Point Christian Academy, Randolph County Schools (attending two days a week at half capacity) and a few other private/charter schools. The next school system to return (two days a week at half capacity) will be Davidson County Schools, after starting the year with three weeks of online learning. So, our youth are going have their exposure limited in regards to schools. Guilford County Schools will not return until Oct. 20 at the earliest and Winston Salem/Forsyth after 9 weeks of online.

Word of Life will begin on Wed, September 2 at 6:30. That night we will have a short inside gathering (following guidelines below) and then head outside for a giant inflatable water slide!

The following format will be utilized until further notice for regular WOL meetings:
*Youth and Leaders will enter one door (no contact)
*Temperatures will be checked
*Hands sanitized before entering Chapel
*We will not have social distancing in the Chapel but will discourage hugging, shaking hands, etc. Masks will be voluntary
*The service will be streamed live to Room 109 for any leaders (& youth) who want to attend but don't feel comfortable being in the Chapel
*There will be an opening time followed by the message. During/after the message, youth will have the chance to submit questions anonymously that they have about the lesson. Youth will then be dismissed to the snack room for a break.
*Snack Room procedure:
1) Hands sanitized before entering
2) Masks must be worn by anyone who is standing up or not eating
3) Masks can be taken off only by those who are sitting down to eat
4) Pool sticks, ping pong paddles, game controllers, etc. will be sanitized after each use
5) There will be overflow seating (probably in the Upper Room) so that snack room capacity can be limited
6) The room will be sanitized after each group gathering

We will return to the Chapel at around 7:40 for a panel to answer the submitted questions and any further discussion. Youth will sit in the seat in which they started the night. The panel will consist of myself, John Bowers and 1-2 others. When that has concluded, students will be dismissed to leave the church or return to the snack room (same guidelines as above) to fellowship.
When WOL begins, we will not have in-person small groups. They will be added back at some point. We welcome our leaders to attend service if they feel comfortable to do so or watch the service in 109. In both of those cases, they will be able to invest in the students at the level that they are comfortable with. For any leaders who don't come to the actual church building, we will have the live stream. We will provide all leaders with the contact info of the youth assigned to them so they can make weekly contact through technology.
If anyone has any questions for me regarding this, please don't hesitate to make contact.
